Our fully trained closed system flushing specialists undertake works on major projects across the UK, with pipework flushing and pre-commissioning cleaning across a vast range of existing, new build and refurbishment projects.

This includes the cleaning of both heating and chilled water systems, where system components such as control valves and strainers can become blocked with system contaminants rendering the system out of operation. The use of chemicals within this process can enhance the cleaning process by also removing soluble contaminants.

Pre-Commission Cleaning of Heating or Chilled Water Systems

The internal surfaces of new systems are invariably contaminated with grease, jointing compounds, fabricating debris and welding flux. To avoid invalidating any manufacturers warranty, it is therefore recommended all newly installed systems are subject to a chemical clean and flushing process, prior to commissioning and use.

Our specialist engineers are experienced in all aspects of pre-commission cleaning and passivation treatments, and are fully conversant with BSRIA BG 29/2020. We are also able to adopt best practice methodology, where system design may present challenges or restrictions.

Cleaning of Existing Heating and Chilled Water Systems

Systems which are already in use may also require chemical cleaning when there is a build-up of corrosion, scaling or other contaminants, which may cause reductions in heat transfer and significantly reduce the efficiency of the plant.

Similarly to pre-commisson cleaning, we are able to carry out a power flush of the system in order to restore or maintain system efficiency and integrity, to give prolonged protection for many years and reduce both maintenance and running costs.
